Hi, my name is Amanda and I started this website when I first got interested in cake decorating and signed up for a Wilton cake decorating class at my local Michael’s store. I’m by no means an expert cake decorator, but I love to spend time in the kitchen baking and experimenting with different kinds of recipes. I especially love all the tools and gadgets associated with baking and cake decorating, mostly because they make me feel like a kid again! I probably spend more time than I should flipping through the pages of my favorite dessert and cake decorating books, but I love to read and write almost as much as I love to spend time in the kitchen.

One of the things I seem to struggle with is making cakes that both look good and taste good. Sometimes it seems like we spend so much time trying to impress people with an attractive cake that we forget that eventually the cake must be eaten! Don’t forget that it’s what on the inside that counts most! I’m also starting to learn more about the latest trend toward mini desserts including decorating cookies, cupcakes, and my current favorite–cake balls. So I hope you stick around.
